Memorial Day Weekend Trip

Shelby has been telling me how beautiful Hughes'(a partner in the feedlot) ranch is in New Mexico. I said "oh really", thinking I have never seen anything beautiful in New Mexico. So when we couldn't go to Dallas (Meredith had to sing at graduation Friday night) Shelby said that Hughes had told him he was welcome to go to his ranch. So I said "sure". Well, we arrived Saturday afternoon and to my surprise, it has to be one of the most beautiful places I've been. We immediately got our fishing poles out and headed to the pond. Not much luck there, so we headed to the stream that ran down the mountain. I was in awe of how beautiful it was. Horses, mountains, streams, ponds, and beautiful weather....what more could you ask for? We got to go to part of the ranch where they just finished filming True Grit (which will come out in December). Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and James Brolin are starring in it. They built this cute little cabin that they made look like its been there for 100 years. It was so fun looking at all the old sites and barns and stables on the ranch. Then we went for a swim in the pool and hot tub at the main house. Lots of reading and lots of barbecuing and the perfect weekend! Enjoy the pretty pictures!

Merediths Jr Prom
It's a shame that I had three girls and get to do the whole Prom experience so many times. It is by far one of my favorite days. I try to spend the day helping my daughter get ready and then sending her off. Pictures are a must and believe me I was mad this year when I took my expensive camera out and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Of course I figured it out the next day but it was too late. So the pics aren't the best but of course Meredith looked gorgeous. I'm always so impressed when it comes to buying dresses how I don't have to fight with my girls about being modest. They have always been very picky and really try to abide by the rules. Its hard when you live where there are no friends that are LDS and don't really understand the importance of being modest. Its more a time to look like someone on tv or in a magazine, rather than who they really are. I'm so honored to be a mother to girls who are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Its my greatest blessing!

Fun trip to Utah

The kids had spring break last week. I decided at the last minute to head to Utah. Meredith had to stay for soccer practices, so Walker, Claire and I hit the road. We headed to Provo and met up with Megan for dinner and then to No Ogden to visit my parents. We got to visit with my brother and both my sisters and their families. It is always so good to get to spend some time with them. We skied a Snowbasin and Sundance. We went rock wall climbing and swimming at the wave pool with Carol and her kids. Then we headed back down to Provo to spend some time with Megan. It was a fast trip but so good to see everyone!
